Questions
Should I use this or Instagram's Edits app?
If you film and post from your phone, Edits is free and made for exactly that. PandaStudio is for people who record on a computer (talking to camera, screen recordings, podcasts) or who want to cut Reels out of longer videos, and want captions, zooms and graphics that look edited rather than templated.
Can PandaStudio post straight to Instagram?
Yes. Connect your Instagram account once and publish an export as a Reel from the app. Instagram only allows this for Business and Creator accounts, so switch a personal account to Creator (it's free) if you want to post from PandaStudio. Otherwise, export the MP4 and upload it yourself.
Does it write the caption and hashtags?
Yes. It writes a short Reel caption with a hook and a few relevant hashtags from what you actually said, using a model that runs on your computer. Edit it before you post.
What size does it export?
1080x1920 vertical MP4, which is what Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and TikTok all expect.
Does it work on Windows as well as Mac?
Yes, PandaStudio runs on both. Everything, including transcription and the caption model, runs locally, so your footage isn't uploaded anywhere until you publish.
Can Claude or Codex make my Reels?
Yes. Ask the built-in agent, or connect Claude Code, Claude Desktop or Codex to PandaStudio, and say something like 'turn this video into two Reels in the rapid-fire list style and post the better one to Instagram'.
