How to remove background noise from a video

The fastest way is an editor with AI noise suppression built in: open the video, run the clean-up on its audio, listen back, and export. It strips steady noise like fans, hiss, hum and air conditioning, and good tools also reduce room echo, which is a separate problem most noise removers leave in.

Method 1: one click, on your computer (PandaStudio)

1. Import your video into PandaStudio (or record it there) and open it in the editor.
2. Open the Audio tab and click Clean Audio. A neural noise-suppression model runs on your machine, so the video is never uploaded.
3. If the room sounds hollow or boomy, turn on Reduce echo. It shortens the room's ring after each phrase without thinning your voice.

3. Go to Effect > Noise Removal and Repair > Noise Reduction and click Get Noise Profile.
4. Select the whole track, open Noise Reduction again, start gently (around 6 to 12 dB) and click OK. Too much makes voices sound watery.
5. Export the audio and replace the original track in your video editor.

This classic profile-based method works well on steady hiss and hum, less well on changing noise like traffic or chatter, and it doesn't touch room echo.

• Get the microphone close to your mouth; distance adds both noise and echo.
• Switch off fans, air conditioning and notifications before recording.
• Soften bare rooms with curtains, rugs or a sofa behind the camera to cut echo.
