Editing plans, routines and memory for PandaStudio's AI agent

PandaStudio's AI agent works like a small production team: it shows you an editing plan before a bigger edit, runs routines you set up (every Monday, or whenever a recording finishes), and remembers your channel and preferences in a memory you can read, edit and undo.

Plans: before a multi-step edit the agent writes a plan on a card in the chat, with a one-line summary, the steps and up to three questions as buttons (how much cleanup, which style). Nothing changes until you press Start editing, then the steps tick off as it works. If a step fails or needs your OK, the plan pauses and the agent asks on a card. A built-in routine, Plan every new recording, is on by default: when you finish a recording, a plan is already waiting on the new project. It only suggests, it never edits on its own. Routines: say "every Monday..." or "whenever I finish a recording..." and the agent proposes a routine. It stays off until you press Turn on, and any change the agent wants to make to a routine that is on waits for your OK too. Routines run while PandaStudio is open (or in the menu bar), one agent turn per run on your own AI account, and you see every run and its report in Settings > Routines, with Run now, pause and delete. There are ready-made ones for a Monday competitor scan, Shorts from each podcast episode, and Friday unposted exports. Memory: the agent keeps a short creator profile (your channel, niche, audience and voice) and a list of preferences. It saves what you tell it to remember, and asks with a Remember this? card before saving something it only noticed. Settings > Agent memory shows both lists with their size limits, lets you add, edit and delete entries, and keeps a change log you can undo. Memory stays on your Mac. The chat also shows graphic previews you can add to the timeline, and posting schedules you edit and approve before anything is posted.

In the app

  1. 1Open the AI tab (or the chat bubble) and ask for an edit, for example "edit this into a YouTube video".
  2. 2Answer the plan's questions with the buttons, then press Start editing.
  3. 3To set up a routine, describe it in the chat, then press Turn on on its card. Manage routines in Settings > Routines.
  4. 4To see or change what the agent remembers, open Settings > Agent memory.

Ask the AI

Open the AI chat in the editor and say any of these. The agent does the edits for you.

“Plan how you'd edit this into a polished YouTube video. Don't edit anything yet.”
“Every Monday at 9 am, check what's breaking out in my niche and give me 3 video ideas.”
“Whenever I finish a podcast episode, make 3 Shorts and a posting schedule for me to approve.”
“Remember that my channel is WritePanda: tutorials for solo founders, upbeat and practical.”
“Where and when should I post these exports?”

CLI & MCP

Every capability is a verb, reachable from the terminal or from an MCP agent (Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, Continue, Claude Desktop).

plan.propose
pandastudio plan.propose --id=<project> --summary="Tight YouTube edit" --steps='[{"title":"Remove fillers","stage":"edit"}]'

In PandaStudio's own chat this shows the plan card; plan.update-step reports progress, plan.get reads it.

routine.propose
pandastudio routine.propose --name="Monday ideas" --prompt="..." --schedule="mon 09:00"

A proposed routine stays off until the user turns it on. Schedules: mon 09:00, weekdays 09:00, every 2h, monthly 1 09:00, or an event such as recording.finished.
