Add creator effects to a Short in PandaStudio: reel wall, orbit, neon, keys falling and more

PandaStudio 2.1.47 and later has a set of short-form effects built around you: your own shot tiled into the wall behind you, cards fanning and orbiting round your head, a polaroid pile, twin stickers of you, a word repeated behind you, neon and colour-bloom words, ransom-note scrapbook text, keyboard keys falling, a shop card with an Add to cart tap, a scrolling playlist and a three-scene split. Each one is a single click or a single AI request.

Every effect is a live graphic drawn by the render engine, so it looks the same in the preview and the export and you can change it any time. The picture effects show your own shot, live from the video, until you swap in your own pictures. The reel wall, word wall and card reveal stand behind you: PandaStudio cuts you out of the frame and draws you in front of them. Orbit and polaroids pass behind you and in front of you. The Creator effects Short recipe puts them together, a different effect on every beat, never the same one twice in a row.

In the app

  1. 1Move the playhead to the word the effect should land on.
  2. 2Open the Graphics tab and click an effect under Creator effects: Reel wall, Card reveal, Orbit, Polaroid pile, Twin stickers, Word wall, Neon sign, Color bloom, Scrapbook, Keys falling, Add to cart, Scroll overlay or Three scenes.
  3. 3In the Selected panel, type the words, set the number of cards or tiles, or click Add a picture to use your own pictures instead of your shot.
  4. 4For walls and cards behind you, give it a moment the first time: the preview shows Preparing background while it finds you in the frame.
  5. 5Type the exact Starts at and Length, or snap it to the word you say.

Ask the AI

Open the AI chat in the editor and say any of these. The agent does the edits for you.

“Make this a fast creator-effects Short: a different effect on every beat, built around me.”
“Put a reel wall of my own shot behind me when I say "look at all of this".”
“Add twin stickers of me on "two of me", then keys falling that spell AI.”
“Add an Add to cart card for my course, $49, when I mention it.”

CLI & MCP

Every capability is a verb, reachable from the terminal or from an MCP agent (Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, Continue, Claude Desktop).

project.add-motion-element
pandastudio project.add-motion-element --id=$ID --type=reelWall --wordId=w-12 --durationMs=2500 --content='{}'

Picture effects (reelWall, cardFan, orbit, polaroids, splitScreen, productCard) show your own shot by default; pass images (paths, or "@speaker" for your shot) to use pictures.

project.add-motion-element
pandastudio project.add-motion-element --id=$ID --type=sticker --atMs=4000 --content='{"image":"@speaker","twin":true}'

Twin stickers: you, cut out of your own shot with a white die-cut border, one in each lower corner.

project.add-motion-elements
pandastudio project.add-motion-elements --id=$ID --elements='[{"type":"neon","content":"open late","atMs":1000},{"type":"keycaps","content":"AI","atMs":3500},{"type":"productCard","content":{"title":"Editing course","price":"$49"},"atMs":6000}]'

Other types: wordWall, bloom, scrapbook, scrollList (a phone list scrolling past) and splitScreen (three scenes).

recipe.apply-style
pandastudio recipe.apply-style --id=creator-effects-short --projectId=$ID

Then recipe.render --id=creator-effects-short gives the agent the recipe's steps and variety rules.
